Athlete of the Month - Ruby Beveridge

Athlete of the Month for March is Ruby Beveridge.

Ruby became involved in athletes as an alternative to waiting around for brother, Heath, to finish his events.

She started at Brimbank Little Athletics and initially found running 100m challenging. Nowadays at AVSL you will find Ruby still taking on the 100m, but also nailing the longer distances. She enjoys running and has grown to prefer the longer races.

Ruby participates in Park Runs and has run a couple of Melbourne Marathon 10km races. She plans to run a half marathon one day.

She enjoys running on the track and appears to prefer doing three track races at AVSL, rather than mixing it up with a field event. This year Ruby competed in 9 AVSL Rounds and regularly entered three events per round. The events she entered were the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and 3000m.

True to form, Ruby competed in the 200m, 800m and 3000m at the AVSL Playoffs. Ruby is a student at the VU in Footscray and is studying Library and Information Services.

Congratulations on a terrific year of athletics Ruby.
