AVSL Round 4 Wrap

AVSL Round 4 Wrap

This was our best performance, so far, as a whole Club under the AVSL format where athletes are limited to scoring in 3 individual events. We scored 38 391 points in our Power Play at Keilor, which resulted in a top place finish by 9 657 points and 20 ladder points to help consolidate our position on top of Division Two. This result eclipses the 29 663 points in last year’s Power Play.

It was a terrific day for our Club. Despite the chilly and windy weather, the many PBs throughout the day and the energy around the relays created a vibrant atmosphere.

We had 52 athletes competing, with 16 athletes in 2 individual events and 22 athletes in 3 or more individual events. Thank-you to Ruby, Nardine, Soumeya, Janae, Aliyah, Sarah, Amber, Ruth, Chloe, Summer, Isabella, Emily, Liz, Janice, Brenda, Brigitte, Ben H, Jackson, Tom, Heath, Marcus, Frankleen, Carl, Brad, Bol, Jaydon, Rajvir, Jeeva, Kaelan, Oscar, Emerson, Mafi, Alan B, Mal, Phil, Liam McG, Stan and Blair for competing in more than one individual event.

On provisional results, after four rounds, we are on top of the Division 2 Ladder with 46 points, from Sandringham on 37 pts, Bendigo Harriers 28 pts, KSB on 27 pts, South Bendigo on 23 pts, Ballarat Harriers 19pts, Wyndham 18 pts, Mornington 17 pts, Eureka 16 points and Ringwood on 4 pts. Sandringham and ourselves are the only two Division 2 Clubs to have played their Power Play.

Our top ten points scorers were: Amber 1317, Stan 1213, Liz 1137, Tom 1088, Heath 1087, Sarah 1069, Alan B 1055, Emily 1052, Frankleen 1048 and Kaelan 1046. We also had Jackson on 1010 and Mafi on 1004 to make a total of 12 athletes breaking the 1000 points.

We had some excellent Age Group Gradings this round with Men’s U20 and U16 finishing 1st, Women’s U20 were 2nd, Men’s U18 3rd and Women’s U16 4th.

Remember to check your results with AV via the Results Hub and submit any queries well before 5pm on the Monday.

A big welcome to Bol and congrats on a nice performance for your comeback meet. Congratulations Jade on setting a club record in the U18 3 km Walk of 16:08.3 and Mafi on setting a club record for U14 Hammer with a throw of 54.03m.
